For people that applied to mailinglist, but that did not confirm in their email.

Normally a user must react within a certain period of time (e.q. 48 hours), or the link does not work any more.
The user must that take action to get a new request.
Then a resend is not needed, because the "open" issue will be removed automatically.
I think that is a better way to do?

I think the request in this issue is mostly to send users a second e-mail automatically, to remind them of a pending mailinglist registration, rather than requiring the user to take action (which they'll forget). @tammoterhark, could you confirm?

I had not thought of this yet, but yes, it would be great to resend automatically after [x] days.

What would x be? A value in hypha.ini? Or just plain 7? Or 42?

I had not thought of this yet,

In that case, what did you mean with the original issue?

Just discussed this in the meeting and sending an automatic reminder seems like the right approach.

Perhaps we should have a "reject" link in the confirmation mail as well (in case you changed your mind, or someone else used your e-mail address) , which would delete your subscriptoin and prevent further reminders from being sent.

An automated reminder might also be applicable to the project member invitation.

Manually triggering a reminder e-mail is now possible since #277. Let's leave this issue open for automatically sending a reminder after some time.

Hoi Matthijs.

@laurensmartina You moved this to "In progress", did you make a start on this and/or plan to do so soon? If not, maybe move it back to "Todo"?
